With the manufacturers unhappy about the image of sidecar racing, the ACU scrapped the three-wheelers for 1926, together with the Ultra-Lightweght Class which had suffered from lack of entries.
The Italian teams of Garelli, Bianchi and Moto Guzzi appeared on the solo scene.
The first 70mph lap was accomplished in the Senior Race by Jimmy Simpson on an AJS
