PRACTICE WEEK - TUESDAY

After a welcome nights sleep, (I had slept in the car in Liverpool to be first on the ferry, a TTFAN tradition) I went round the course but was held up just after Union Mills at Ballahutchin, the site of the unfortunate crash which later claimed the life of Jun Maeda the popular Japanese rider...The lorries were out to clear the petrol and oil off the road.

After doing a slow lap I returned to Douglas to see what remained of Summerland !

The day went by quickly and it was practice time again. This particular evening I tried the A1 taxi out to see what the cost would be if my legs gave out. £3.50 plus tip from the Hilton to the Paddock was well worth it. I left the car in the Hilton car park until I returned. I met up with Charlie Williams and Chris Kinley in the Paddock.

Feeling a bit thirsty and chilled by the wind which still blew, I went to see Jenny and her Mum in the TT Supporters Club Tent which supplies riders with a selection of warm, hot and cold drinks.

I then walked back to the Hilton downhill, following the way we used to use in the 50's, 60's.70's and 80's. We called it Huntlys Cutting. It is all surfaced now and goes through an estate of houses.

I arrived on Empire Terrace behind the Castle Mona. The hotel where we had all stayed years ago is now appartments !!

I had a lovely meal in the Paragon within the Hilton then drove to Bushys to hear the band appearing that evening.

Larger sized photos will be available in my TT Album very soon.
